A new employment sector, SSW Logistics & Warehousing (Freight Logistics & Warehouse Management), has been introduced as an important job field for Sri Lankan youth aspiring to secure employment in Japan.

According to official information from Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), this field has been added to the SSW Type 1 program, and details regarding the required examinations and implementation procedures are currently being released.
According to announcements, this SSW exam is expected to be available in Sri Lanka starting December 1, 2026.
However, a recent announcement from the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka or the exam organizers confirming this exact date could not be verified through official sources. According to Japan's official MLIT page, as of September 2026, the official start date for the SSW exam was still undecided.
Therefore, please check the latest exam schedule and registration details before applying.
